Seminar is a provocative comedy drama from a Pulitzer Prize nominee.
Four aspiring young novelists sign up for private writing classes with Leonard, an international literary figure. Under his recklessly brilliant and unorthodox instruction, some thrive and others flounder, alliances are made and broken, sex is used as a weapon and hearts are unmoored. The wordplay is not the only thing that turns vicious as innocence collides with experience in this biting comedy.
Set in present day New York Seminar follows four young writers – Kate, Martin, Douglas, and Izzy – and their professor, Leonard. Each student has paid Leonard $5,000 for a ten-week writing seminar to be held in Kate’s Upper West Side apartment. As tensions rise and romance falls, they clash over their writing, their relations and their futures.
