This is the love story of Ethel and Norman Thayer, who are returning to their summer home on Golden Pond for the 48th year. A retired professor, Norman is nearing 80, with a failing memory, but still as tart-tongued, observant and eager for life as ever. Ethel is ten years younger and is Norman’s perfect foil. They are joined by their middle-aged daughter, her fiancé and his teenage son. The play beautifully explores family relationships and important lessons are learned by all the characters.
